Moving Sucks

Just dropping by to say the move is over. It was traumatic, stressful and things still aren't completely sorted. I have no internet as yet - still and am getting the runaround from Primus and my provider. So right now I'm using dial-up (yikes!) to post until I can get things sorted out. My provider is trying to force me out of my contract saying it's a "grandfather" contract and they can no longer provide it unless I'm prepared to pay double. Yeah, I don't think so. Anyway, in case anyone was wondering, I haven't fallen off the planet, just fallen into the never-ending black hole that is moving!

House, We Has It!

Yay! We went and saw a house today that's managed by our current real estate agent. Looks less than impressive from the outside, but inside is b--i--g. Just what we need. We tend to spread out a bit as anyone who's been to my house can attest. So now it's all abut the packing and finding a removalist and all that fun stuff.

In between house hunting, I managed to buy a new shirt for Jericho ^__^ I got it from talithax and she sent it with one of her cute little bracelets. Not only that, but it was delivered today, in between rain storms. Thanks talithax's parents!

Meanwhile, I still have an exam on Tuesday, so it's back to reading about how Rule 8 replaces and extends Rule 9.5 of the original Professional Conduct Rules. Fun stuff, I tell ya!

So now I'm wasting time browsing eBay because my favourite sellers have new stock and what better way to waste time when I'm supposed to be studying? Winter's coming and my boys need shoes, dammit.

Meanwhile, a week or so ago, Lucah was the first to meet Jericho. I had thought that Lucah, being Lucah, wouldn't take to the little guy, but they seemed to get on quite well. However, I think Lucah was up to mischief, and making a start on his plan to lead Jericho astray. Just a feeling I have.

I love Marvin - such a fun guy...er, robot, whatever.

Anyway, this week I received something in the mail. Not the usual happy surprises. This was a "WTF!" surprise. A Notice to Terminate from the landlord ;_; Yes. We have to move. I *hate* moving. I can't begin to describe just how much I hate it. But if, like me, you don't actually own the house you live in, you get to do a lot of moving. Life sucks.

Also, I had to get my eyes tested and get new glasses, so that's cost me quite a bit *sob* That money could have bought me my DOB and two faceups and clothes! But at least I'll be able to see clearly @_@

TAFE starts again next week and first night back I have an exam! Lucky me.

This weekend will be study, assignment I still have to finish, house-hunting, study, and more study. I know you're all jealous - hahahahaha!!

PS: Anyone else having trouble with DOA tonight?

I swear my Ryu is jinxed. First of all it took me forever to get his (and his brother's) face painted, then his stringing came undone and I had to re-string him, now one of his eyelashes has fallen off ;_; The eyelashes I sent for the faceup were freakin' HUGE! More like lashes for people. I think that may be the problem. Anyway, right now he's missing some lashes. I don't know if I should just rip the other one off, too, or try and re-apply them. I really *do* like lashes on a doll, so maybe I'll try to put them back on.

Yes, the heads arrived back early last week, and I was so anxious to connect them to their long-waiting bodies, I decided to make a start straight away - when I should have been studying. Anyway, when I was taking the little donut-y thing off the first body, I slipped a chopstick in under the elastics to hold them in place when I took of the S-hook. Except I didn't put the chopstick in correctly, and the damned elastic shot straight down the body. Eeek! Poor boy's chest and tummy fell off and so did his right lower leg and his foot! I didn't have time to mess around with a falling-apart doll's body, so I managed to fix his leg and foot, and left him like that until last night. Now he's all fixed - yay! It's marvellous what determination and a pair of pliers can do ^_~

So they're both complete now, except poor Ryu doesn't have his proper eyes or wig ;_; and one of the eyes I did put in isn't straight, so there aren't any pics of him. But the Miho turned out very well indeed, so there are a couple of pics of him and - because his brother couldn't be in the pics, we got a stand-in ^__^

Mo!

I love surprise packages - except when I can't get to them right away! I got a call on Friday to say a box had arrived for me from Ian. That could only mean one thing - my Mo had arrived! Bummer, though. I had a work function after work, and I wasn't going to get home until after 11pm!

I did open the box when I got home, and was surprised how colourful his face was! His lips are painted a little weirdly, and they are hard to photograph, but he's grogeous and I love him.

Tomorrow, I have to study for another exam - boo! - so I've been playing a bit with Jericho today. Here's a little piccie of my new boy. Clicking on the pic will take you to my Picasa album where there's more Jericho pics:

Dolls and Stuff - What Else?

I took my MD heads to the Post Office during the week and the guy behind the counter asked why I'd written "With Care Please" on the box. I said it was because the contents were fragile. His response? We don't handle fragile goods. Oh, right, then. Well, give me the package back and I'll fly to New South Wales and deliver it in person, shall I? Moron. Anyway, the heads were sent, and later I realised I'd forgotten to include the eyelashes. Back to the post office. No problems this time.

I'm wondering just how much more longer I have to wait for my Mo to arrive. Meanwhile, DOD have made a bold attempt to hijack my savings by bringing out their DOB line. I do love Pisce, but before I decide anything I'd like to know how big they'll be. I'm hoping 30cm or thereabouts and maybe around $200-$250. I may be kidding myself, but all will be revealed on the 1st April.

Wow! That exam was hard >.< Harder than I thought it would be and harder than the lecturer said it would be, and harder than the sample exams were! To make thing worse, I'd just gotten into the lift after the exam and remembered I'd forgotten to finish one question - wah!

Guess I'll have to wait for the results. All high hopes have gone out the window and now I'm just hoping for a pass.

But at least the weather's cooled down - yay! No more fear of resin melt ^__^

Last Sunday I finally put some clothes on my FDoll bodies (who are waiting for their MD heads). Until then they'd been lying around the house naked, except for some conveniently placed toilet paper. Why toilet paper? It was part of their packing materials, so I just placed it across their private doll parts so no one need be confronted with nekkid resin boybits.

So now, they're dressed - headless, but dressed - so why are they freakeir than before?

Has anyone else put their dollie on the cover of a mag? I found this at DoA in the BJD Games section. T'is fun! Lucah loved it!

I doubt I'll get much dollie stuff done this weekend, apart from finishing off cleaning my MD heads to send for faceups. I have an exam on Tuesday - yikes! Closed book, too - boo! I have to study. I'd rather be doing dollie stuff, but I guess the boys are happy not to have me man-handling them in this heat.

Yay! Visitors today. Two humans and several dolls - not to mention many heads! Even Ticoh put in an appearance and let me hold him while "the strangers" patted him. Yeah, my shoulder should heal up just fine!

That's life at the moment. I have new pics but haven't had a chance to upload. Speaking of dolls, I'm over waiting for my Mo - when will he get here? All I can do is comfort myself with the thought he's closer to arriving than he was this time last week. I'm hoping I'm not disappointed that he's msd sized. Because I have big dolls, I have to keep reminding myself, Mo is a smaller boy. But I'm sure once he arrives, I'll be over the moon with him.

In other words, my second lace shirt turned up today, along with the pants I ordered and a bonus pair of pants that Raidan has declared he wouldn't be seen dead in and Lucah is gushing all over. In fact, Lucah is gushing over *both* pairs and they'd both suit him. Been rather busy today, so I haven't had a chance to try them on any of my boys, but I'll do it on the weekend - great chance to try out David's new/secondhand camera ^__^

I think I must be jinxed when it comes to lace tops. I ordered a lace top and some pants from a seller on DOA before Xmas. There was a problem with customs forms and the parcel never showed up. Back in January he said he'd send the items again, and they're still not here.

I won an auction for a lace top on eBay a little while ago. Guess what? Yep, it's not here, either.

Yet the zebra top and black pants I ordered on the 6 Feb arrived on Thursday 14 Feb. See? No lace involved. I suspect there's a postie out there with a lace fetish!

Was great fun although the fall-out is still being felt here at home. Lucah has been banished to the far corner of the display unit (still with a smug smile on his face!) while Raidan is brooding in the other corner, and Rook is sitting between the two hugging his alien squishie and pretty much oblivious to the tension. I love Rook - he's so hassle-free.

Lucah was lucky to get new clothes before we went out to the meet.

Hair

My wig and eyelashes arrived from Cool Cats today - yay! Very nice white wig that's meant for one of my severed heads, but it does look very nice on Lucah. My poor heads! I really need to either knuckle down and finish their faces, or give up and send them to someone else.

I got a notification from eBay that I'd won an item that I'd forgotten I'd bid on! It was a black lace shirt, that will fit er...someone. It's all paid for now and the seller will send it out tomorrow.

The pants and shirt I ordered through a seller on DOA still haven't turned up even though I was told they'd been sent again. How long does it take for things to get here from America? Not usually this long, I think.

I'll be looking closely at my finances this week and I'm very hopeful I'll be able to pay off my Mo ^__^

Yes, I managed to fit in a photo-shoot today and Rook wasn't in any of the pics. Nope, it was all about Lucah today. He's had a change of clothes and wig. Sadly, the new clothes I've ordered still haven't shown up, so he's wearing general-use stuff.

Not so long ago I was looking at some pics of a DZ Hid and thought what an unattractive dorrie it was. Last night I was looking at Moggies' site for clothes and shoes and guess what? I decided I *must* have Hid! How does this happen? How can my tastes change so much in a few months? Of course, I'm still paying for my Mo-2 but dammit! now I want Hid and Fei. I shouldn't be allowed near a computer! My bank account! My poor, poor (literally!) bank account!

Having been tipped off as to where I could get some MSC in the city, I phoned them and was told they couldn't get it any more because it's out of production. However, further discussions with the original poster clairified things and it seemed the shop-guy was talking about the wrong MSC. So I decided to go there after work and order some over the counter and maybe pick up some Testors.

After work, had a drink with a friend then headed off on my long walk. Got to the shop and it was shut >.< On Friday. Late-night shopping Friday. Apparently it had closed extra early tonight - 5.20pm to be exact. Not sure if it was the cricket, the bike race or a personal crisis that was to blame. Maybe I'll try tomorrow - when I'll *drive* in. I'm sure the kids would love a drive into town and some time in a hobby shop.

Why oh why must the DOD Gallery for Guest(s) be over-run by retards these last few months. I wish to hell they would piss off instead of pissing me off with their idiotic posts, endless exclaimation marks, CAPSLOCK posts ZOMG!!!!!!!!!! and so on. Fucking twits. I noticed they're less idiotic on DOA, but only only a by a little.

Hmmm, I'm still battling with face-ups. I've got half a face done, and it doesn't look too bad, but I don't know if I want to give up and just let someone else do it. Somehow, I feel that because I've done the faces, the dolls aren't quite the real deal. I think I'd be more adventurous if I had more MSC, but... I must try tracking some down. I got the name of some suppliers from AngelsAU.

I really don't need another doll...I really don't want a 45cm doll...and I've heard not altogether fantastic things about DZ dolls. But, I've seen this little guy and he's told me his name and everything! And he comes with clothes and wig and SHOES! I've even picked out a second outfit and all. $400 and it could all be mine! I must save ^__^

I've seen the cutest backpacks that might suit MSDs, but I don't own any, so I can't check. Another reason why I *need* this DZ boy!

Lucah is sulking because his new clothes got lost in the post :( Thankfully, the seller is sending me another set. So the arrogant one will have to wait.

In other doll news, Shin'ichi has finally told me his real name - it's Rook. I suspect I was influenced by watching so much Death Note lately and hearing Ryuk's name. But, hey, it suits him better than Shin'ichi, since he looks as Japanese as I do, which is not at all.

One Year On and Still A N00B!

I didn't even think about DOD doing a Xmas event. Last year, it was all about Ducan for me. I'd ordered him in October and was hoping he'd arrive before Christmas so I didn't even look to see if DOD had an event.

They do this year and it's fantastic - and I'm broke *sob* I would so love one of those DOI boys at the discount price, but it looks like I'm going to have to learn to actually save some money and buy one (or two or three) next year. All of which makes me very glad they're not limited.

Meanwhile, I'm still attempting to do my Migi Ryu's face up. I've gotten as far as the eyebrows and they're not great >.< One problem is finding daylight time in which to do it. With Xmas around the corner, my days are busy with work and shopping and Xmas preps, so poor Ryu drops down the list of "Must Dos!". Miho doesn't even get a look in now! As for the plans I had to make some nice jewellery...yeah, right.

However, thanks to talithax, my boys do have some lovely new jewellery to wear for Xmas! Except Lucah is wearing his already. Greedy, needy boy! If I can get the Migi heads done before Xmas, they'll be wearing their new bling, too! Maybe I'll put in some eyes, attach their heads to their bodies, shove on a wig, and they can still wear their bling, not to mention freaking my family out at the unpainted dollies!
